Custom Mouthguards

Custom Mouthguards Explained

We can provide custom mouthguards to treat a variety of conditions. Patients who snore or suffer from sleep apnea may benefit from snoreguards or other orthotic devices. Athletic mouthguards protect your teeth during sports activities. If you unconsciously grind your teeth, a condition known as bruxism, a custom mouthguard will alleviate nighttime grinding. Patients who suffer with TMJ dysfunction can find non-surgical relief, oftentimes, with custom mouthguards that reposition the jaws.

To create a mouthguard, we use a dental impression of your teeth and the appropriate material for the mouthguard you’ll need. It’s important to take good care of your mouthguard. Before and after each use, check for damage and rinse the appliance with cold water or mouthwash. You should regularly clean your mouthguard with a toothbrush and toothpaste or in a solution of soapy water.
